Now i got the pistons down to 414 grams, and I will most likely have to reduce the dome to get quench clearance, so I´m close to the target 400 g, . It takes time to get those last grams, but there is no way around it when you are replacing pistons, and its more difficult when the assembly is initially balanced with extremely low reciprocating weight. Getting decent basic compression in a 4 3/4 stroke, 3 5/8 bore and bathtub type chambers is not doable with the typical 30 degree pistons, but rather 43 degrees (dome) is required to get i.e 10, 5.

Street 96", Quench 3 5/8 Pistons
Ross Racing Pistons made the Blanks which I¨m finishing, crown and Valve Pockets on, adjusting weight to target just below 400 grams, they came in at 542, but after Valve Pockets and the angled crown `got milled it´s down to 458 g.
Ross are super responsive and did meet my schedule and I was able to pick up on the east coast a couple of weeks ago, I sent my sketch dimensions from my CAD as pdf, and they work in Pro Engineer. I´m happy to get this motor back together with the right kind of quench pistons. I have been running some makeshift regular pistons. for a few years so it´s about time.
