Starting the "Mother"

Kickstarting the bike in the normal setup is undramatic, attention to the condition of the kick gears and cover setup gives confidence.
Last season I ran with a failed Valve spring retainer on the fr. intake and it took me a while to figure. The valve keepers moved and the rocker arm hit the edge of the retainer which resulted in a worn valve guide and oil contaminating the combustion and, starting became a nightmare.
But it is also somewhat unpractical to kick start when on the dyno or when testing different setups.
I noticed the setup used on the Pro Stock Buell´s, like European Champion Ulf Ögge and took a closer look at their hand held gear reduction unit and after comparing it to other alternatives it came out as optimal for my purposes, so its on it´s way from Star Racing.
The Pro Twin Class rules does not allow this to be used in the actual race
so I will have stay in Kick shape....Heavier is better i guess...
The unit gets here next week, its fitted with two motors, reduction gearbox and out of the snout the drive is square, so I'm heading for the shop to manufacture the hub to be bolted on the Crank drive.

Cam and Heads

Picked up the new cams from Jim Leineweber.
One identical as a backup for the existing
special grind and two with same lift but altered timing
on exhaust, also managed to collect some Woodward tooling for
the head work, which basically is the fr. intake Valve Guide
to be replaced.
Finally I also produced the "Mother of all" valve spring compressors
designed for the 1.5" springs and caps I use.
It´s close to X-mas and we are shoveling lot´s of snow, just like it should be
Have a great X-mas

Viking Raceway is a GO!

Great news from the environmental court who approved the plans for a dragstrip facility in Hallstavik north of Stockholm.
The crew behind the project had been working dedicated to the project over 13 years.
The plan and the people are no- nonsens with life long experience on some hands and will stay focused on the factual work at hand, the next step.......
Not trying to become the facility for all motorsports but the finest of drag strips, top ten in the world and 2nd to none in Europe.

Stockolm and surrounding communities collects a large number of active racers with no home track, this can be it. Join and contribute.

Bike is offloaded and cleaned up.
Photographer Finn Boijer took the pic at Mosten Raceday.
New cams on the way for testing and planning of head restoration.
Valvetrain and the fr. intake guide.
Restoration of the holes for the rocker shafts have been on the list for some time.
Should be fair this winter compared to building a new bike.
Will also start the new engine build up, have to make up my mind as I find it hard to leave
the 3, 13/16 bore as bigger bore carries requires heavier Pins and what have you...

Allright, the "EvilMother" blog is officially started.

Came back from this seasons last event in Mosten, Denmark.
Totally rained away, with one qualification run, but it was sweet.
Dr. Feelgood on friday night was also an experience worth the trip.
Met a firendly crew with a Blown Ethanol chopped 32 Ford 5 window who got me questioning my methanol plans, more about that later.
This blogg will be all about Drag Racing with the "EvilMother" Knucklehead Drag bike and it´s no secret that I am dedicated to run a 9.99 or better single digit on the quarter mile
with the this Ironhead, normally aspirated, kick start S.O.B.
